In guide, I have mentioned 6 simple steps that can really boost and increase sound quality of your Wireless Bluetooth Speaker.
I am sharing some very simple and easy ways to boost the sound quality of your Bluetooth speaker.
Step-1: Put Your Bluetooth Speaker At Right Place
Finding the best placement for your Bluetooth speaker is very important to get a great sound quality.
- Don’t place your Bluetooth speaker near corners and walls because sound becomes muddy or echoey after bouncing from wall surface.
- To improve the clarity of sound, place your wireless Bluetooth speaker on a raised (shelf) and solid surface. Elevating it will give you better sound.
- Reflective surfaces like glass or wood enhances Bass of sound. But make sure surfaces are not soft like carpet or bed.
Step-2: Properly Adjust Equalizer Settings of Bluetooth Speaker
Some speakers, most of the modern smart phones and streaming Apps (Apple Music, Spotify etc) have Equalizer (EQ) settings. You can try these settings to enhance the quality of sound.
- Increase lower frequencies for more Bass.
- Try increasing/adjusting midrange. If sound is muffled, it will be clearer and stand out.
- If sound is dull or distant, increase midrange.
- If output sound is very harsh or sharp, decrease midrange.
- Increase treble to improve brightness and clarity of sound if output has less clarity or is muddy.
- If output sound is harsh or very sharp, decrease Treble.
- To get lively and crispier sound, treble must be balanced.
Please note that output sound may become harsh or muddy if Treble or Bass is boosted too much. To find the best setting you should adjust gradually and test different tracks. When you will apply all of these settings on your speaker’s App or device’s settings, you will get a really immersive and richer sound.
Step-3: Check Status of Batter of Your Bluetooth Speaker
When battery of Bluetooth speaker is not fully charged the sound quality becomes low. Low battery cannot give proper power to amplifier and sound becomes weaker. That’s why make sure that battery of your speaker is always fully charged.
Step-4: Check Quality of Music and Audio File
Even a very high quality speaker cannot produce best sound if quality of audio file is low.
- On your App (Spotify etc) set “Very High” in streaming settings
- Make sure your audio file or music is in higher bitrates. FLAC or 320Kbps bitrates are best for high quality sound.

Step-5: Bluetooth Interference and Sound Quality
If there are too many nearby Bluetooth devices, Wifi signals, microwaves etc, the Bluetooth connection of speaker can be affected badly. Bluetooth interference can cause weak connections, audio dropouts and lag, seriously affecting sound quality of your Bluetooth speaker. If there are very thick walls and long distance between your speaker and audio source device, it can also weaken the signals.
- While using Bluetooth speaker, try disconnecting other Bluetooth devices you don’t need
- Stay within 10-20 feet closer to your Bluetooth speaker for a stronger connection.
- For Bluetooth 4.0 and 4.2, the maximum distance should be 33 feet.
- For Bluetooth 5.0 and 5.2, maximum distance range is up to 100 feet.
- For Bluetooth 5.3, maximum distance range is up to 130 feet.
- You can also use wired connection (AUX) if you don’t want effects of Bluetooth interference.
- Outdoor spaces give better Bluetooth ranges than indoors.
Step-6: Need More Boost? Try Amplifier or External DAC
If you have used all of the above settings and still want louder, clearer and greater sound try using external DAC or Amplifier.
Amplifier (AMP):
It is used to make output sound more clear and loud by boosting the audio signal and supplying enough power to speakers to driver sound efficiently. Amplifiers are really effective to improve depth and bass in sound. If you feel that sound of your speaker has become too weak, Amplifier is a real blessing. It also helps when you are using AUX that requires more power.

External DAC (Digital-t0-Analog Converter):
DAC (External Digital to Analgo Converter) converts digital signals into analog signals. These analog signals are then transmitted to speaker to produce better sound output. DAC is useful to remove distortion and noise from sound and to improve details in high quality audio files. External DCA bypasses the weak built-in DCAs present in smart phone and desktop computers and help producing clearer sound. If you need a perfect DAC, consider buying Auris Blume HD Bluetooth 5.0 Music Receiver Hi-Fi with Audiophile DAC & AptX HD.
